What is the battery life of the Lite version and how is it recharged?
The battery of the Lite version lasts approximately two weeks. To recharge it, simply plug it into an outlet. Additionally, if a better location is available, you can also consider using a solar panel for charging.
Is it possible to detach the camera for charging, or do you need to remove the entire unit?
The camera cannot be detached for charging. Instead, I run an extension cord out to it for charging, as it is more convenient than taking down the feeder. We mounted ours to a wooden pole and added a baffle to prevent squirrels from emptying the feeder. Originally, we had it on the back porch, but that made it too accessible to squirrels.
